Bill Spadea Will Not Endorse Jack Ciattarelli for Governor

Former 2025 Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Bill Spadea wrote in an op-ed today, mainly announcing his return to 101.5’s morning rush hour, shared that he will not be endorsing Jack Ciattarelli for Governor. Ciattarelli soundly defeated Bill in the June 2025 primary.
In a move that showcases Bill’s ongoing grudge towards losing the primary, Bill made it very clear that he could not care less about who wins the general. However, it is not just Bill who is refusing to support Jack, but many of Spadea’s hardcore supporters also do not plan on voting for Jack in the general election.
“As far as this coming November, Jack Ciatterelli has already said in interviews that as best he can tell, Spadea's followers are all in. If that’s true, then he doesn’t need my endorsement,” Spadea said. “Frankly, I won't pretend I support a candidate I’ve always believed — and still believe — is wrong for New Jersey.”
During the primary, Bill constantly attacked many elected Republican leaders, mostly unprovoked. This has drawn the ire of numerous Republicans across NJ. However, this behavior by Spadea is continuing after the primary, and it does not look like there are any signs of him stopping this erratic behavior.
“New Jersey deserves a fighter and a leader, not a placeholder. I won’t rubber-stamp more of the same and I certainly won’t help sell voters on a candidate I believe will keep us stuck exactly where we are,” he said.
Throughout his campaign, Bill prided himself on being the voice of common sense, despite surrounding himself with disgraced former Clark mayor Sal Bonnacorso, who spouted out racist slurs towards residents and used township property to operate his landscaping business. This also includes John Merla, the convicted felon, Mayor of Keyport. Anyone with common sense would not surround themselves with corrupt politicians.
Spadea continued, “My focus will remain on standing up for the people of this state — not propping up the political machine. I’ll continue fighting for local candidates, businesses, families and community leaders who are doing the real work to save this state.”
If Spadea wants to remain politically relevant in NJ or even be taken seriously in politics, he would put his differences with Jack aside and endorse him to be Governor. History does show that Republicans who fight each other after the primary often end up losing in the general election. The stakes are way too high this year for pettiness and grudges.

I don’t think I can blame Spadea. As a conservative R in Jersey, my choices are what? Support the infamous NJ uniparty, or have Sherill as Governor. Not good options, in my opinion. Yes, I will vote for Ciattarelli, because he is the lesser of the evils. How disheartening.
