Wayne Superintendent Bends the Knee to ISIS
If you think the inappropriate school curriculum was enough for you, wait until you hear this!
Dr. Mark Toback, the Superintendent of Wayne Township Public Schools apologized for a question on a middle school social studies quiz that correctly identified the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, commonly known as ISIS, as a terrorist organization.
The question stated “What is the name of “a terrorist organization that commits acts of violence, destroys cultural artifacts, and encourages loss of life in order to achieve its goal of global rule under strict Islamic Sharia law?” The correct answer was ISIS. This drew the ire of anti-Israel group Teaching While Muslim who called the question “anti-muslim.” Toback then apologized, deeming the question as “offensive and contrary to our values of respect, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity.” So what is next? Not teaching the evils of fascism so Italians are not offended?
These unacceptable comments by Toback found their way to the New York Post (NYP) Editorial Board which condemned the remarks made by Toback. “Toback partly blamed software for the “offensive” question. Is he really that ignorant about ISIS that he doesn’t realize the software produced truthful info? Or just fearful of being called an Islamophobe?” Said the NYP. “Either way, kids lose. ISIS is a terror group bent on violence “to achieve its goal of global rule under strict Islamic Sharia law.” And kids absolutely should know that.”
The first Board of Education meeting since this news broke will be on Thursday, July, 11th at 7:30 pm in the Wayne Council Chambers (475 Valley Road). I encourage anyone disgusted by Toback's comments to attend the meeting and have your voice heard. NO ONE should be bending the knee to groups that want to destroy our way of life here in America. It is important to teach students the evils of these organizations.
